Washburn

Washburn Guitars was established in 1883 in Chicago and is a part of US Music Corporation. The company makes electric guitars, acoustic guitars, electric basses, acoustic basses, banjos, mandolins, travel guitars and amplifiers. The company also makes accessories including guitar cases, clothing and other parts like tuners, pickups and straps.

In the 1920’s it got involved with Delta Blues, the area around the factory emerging as the epicentre of this musical movement. Washburn guitars were embraced as the very embodiment and reflective spirit of the hard-working musicians who played them as well as the employees who designed and crafted them. This blues movement helped in the success of Washburn guitars at that time.

The company makes eight different styles or “Series” of both electric and acoustic guitars and Washburn guitars have been gaining much recognition in recent years, particularly within the extreme metal, hardcore punk and post-rock scenes.

Washburn continues to be a consistent leader in combining design, innovation and technology to deliver the rich, bold sounds for a vast musical landscape.
