PJD Guitars

Beautiful handcrafted guitars made in the UK.

Founded in 2010 by Leigh Dovey, PJD Guitars of York, are making a name for themselves with 9/10 reviews in Guitarist magazine (UK) for their Carey Elite, Carey Custom and Carey Standard.

Originally Leigh started working with knowledge of wood work picked up from his father and was fortunate enough to inherit his tools as well as a small home workshop. In 2017 he moved up to York and into a bigger workshop.

Standardising his prototype models like the Carey and St John, Leigh now has more models in development and wants to bring even more British hand made PJD guitars to the guitar industry.

Models include:

The York

PJD Guitars York electric guitar

The PJD York introduces “our take on a time honoured and revered guitar. Featuring our very own PJD, custom hand wound, single coil, ‘High Tea’ pickups and an open grain nitrocellulose finish.”

The guitars light weight body lends itself perfectly to performance without compromise and is musically resonant. The rich and full bodied tone, allows for a range of styles to be explored and the ultra-thin nitro finish, means the guitar will open up and develop quickly.

This is the first PJD in the standard line up, that will come exclusively with their own hand wound ‘High Tea’ T style pickups.

York Plus will also see the first time they have offered a Bigsby Tremolo.
