Mooer ShimVerb £59.99

Reverbs. You can spend less than 30 quid for a TC Electronic Skyverb (which is a great pedal for the money) or over £450 for an all singing and dancing Strymon Big Sky which has every reverb under the sun in its arsenal.

Me, I do prefer reverb to delay, but since all my amps have in built reverb, I don’t think I am a natural customer for a Big Sky, as good as it is, but I do want something a bit more versatile than the budget pedals offer. Enter the Mooer Shimverb which is yours for less than £60 if you shop around (check out our shop below!)

Mooer now have a huge range of compact pedals available that cover every pedal effect you want including six different reverb pedals (ShimVerb, SkyVerb, EchoVerb, R7 Micro Reverb, ModVerb and WoodVerb). All are well made and small enough to fit on any pedal board.

In Use

The ShimVerb has three modes: Room, Spring and Shimmer. Room can take you from basic acoustic room reverb up to hall levels. Spring gives you that ‘classic’ spring reverb that emulates the sixties surf sound. And Shimmer is a bit bonkers and gives you a ‘smooth, shiny and spacey’ feel.

I love a bit of room reverb, especially hall, so this is a great pedal for me that also gives me a great spring sound if I want it, plus room (no pun intended) to experiment with the shimmer mode.

For c£60 you get a solid feeling, good looking, tiny pedal with enough features for most guitarists. Well worth a try.
