Avalon Guitars, based in Northern Ireland, handcraft premium acoustic guitars, blending innovation in design with the finest materials and traditional craftsmanship.

Originally formed in 1989 as The Lowden Guitar Company Limited, it produced approximately 15,000 Lowden acoustic guitars until 2003 (as well as an electric bass ‘Goodfellow’ which was sold in 1996).

Due to design restrictions under their agreement relating to Lowden Guitars, they were not able to input any development into the product range. To counter this they created the Avalon Guitars brand in 2000. A mass market series was introduced later (with production by Furch Guitars in the Czech Republic), although this was stopped in 2007, the company returning to its roots in making high-end premium acoustics.
